PSG.LGD is а leader in the world ranking of professional teams
A weekly update of the world ranking of professional Dota 2 teams has appeared on our website. The WePlay AniMajor that ended last night changed things a lot. We've prepared a small overview of the changes. The full version can be found: World Professional Team Rankings.
Two months after the conclusion of the One Esports Singapore Major 2021, the former leader of the ranking, Invictus Gaming, has finally been dethroned. PSG.LGD, the WePlay AniMajor champion, is now rightfully holding the top line. The Chinese team became much stronger than all the other participants and now has a solid point lead over the other teams in the ranking.
In second place is Evil Geniuses, the WePlay AniMajor silver medalists. Unlike the champion, the North American team is not that far behind the lower ranked teams.
The most shocking news of this update is related to Team Secret. Since the ranking founding, the European team leaves the Top-10 for the first time: they are on the 12th line now. All because of the disappointing play on the WePlay AniMajor, where the team was eliminated from the Wild Card stage and took the penultimate place.
Although the WePlay AniMajor has ended, Dota 2 doesn't go away for a long time and on June 16 starts ESL One Summer 2021 with a prize of $400,000, and the i-League 2021 playoffs loom somewhere on the horizon. So there will be a lot of changes in the rankings in the near future.
