SEA Qualifiers Day 2: All Former Upper Bracket Teams Win Today
The second day of the Southeast Asian Qualifiers ends, and four teams have been eliminated. In case you missed the action, here’s a summary of what happened today!
Neon Esports 2-1 Made in Philippines
Neon was the heavy favorite coming into the series against MiPH. In the first game, Neon held a 30,000 net worth lead at 42 minutes but lost their advantage after Young God had a Divine Rapier on his Gyrocopter. MiPH could make an incredible comeback in the first game to take the advantage in the series.
However, Neon quickly showed that their throw in the first game was just a slip-up. Neon stomped the next two games to win the series 2-1 and eliminate Made in Philippines.
Geek Fam 2-0 UD Vessuwan
The second series of the day wasn’t engaging in the slightest, as Geek Fam, a severe competitor in the qualifiers, made quick work of UD Vessuwan.
Geek Fam took the series 2-0 and didn’t sweat. UD Vessuwan had their TI run ended early, while Geek Fam continued their journey. Geek Fam’s next opponent will be Neon Esports.
Army Geniuses 2-0 Vision Gaming
Vision Gaming is arguably the weakest team in the entire qualifier, and their opponent was Army Geniuses.
The Indonesian roster easily defeated Vision Gaming 2-0. Both games ended in 24 and 22 minutes, respectively. InyourdreaM and co. live to see another day in the qualifiers.
BOOM Esports Myth Avenue Gaming
Despite their loss against BLEED yesterday, BOOM Esports was still favored to win the series against Myth Avenue Gaming. However, Krish’s Gyrocopter was too big to deal with in the first game, forcing BOOM to GG out.
BOOM was one more loss away from having their TI dreams crushed, but they kept their cool and bounced back. The favourites convincingly won the following two games, meaning BOOM completed the reverse sweep to keep their chances alive.
Myth Avenue Gaming says goodbye to The International, while BOOM Esports will face Army Geniuses next.
