Like what the Gaimin Gladiators did last year, the Falcons squad is looking to solidify themselves as the best team in 2024. They have destroyed the BetBoom Team 3-0 in the Grand Final, making it their second clean sweep after winning 3-0 against Team Liquid at BetBoom DACHA Dubai

With this victory, Team Falcons has been awarded with $300,000 and 4,200 EPT points, which will be crucial for qualifying to future ESL events.

Earlier in the day, the BetBoom Team faced Xtreme Gaming in the Lower Bracket Final. In this matchup, the BetBoom Team outclassed the Chinese squad, winning both maps convincingly to end the series 2-0.

In the post game interview, BetBoom’s Carry player, Nightfall, was asked what he predicted the Grand Final result to be. He expected the result to be 3-1 in his team’s favor, mentioning he hoped that the team wouldn’t give more than one map, but anything can happen.

After an hour break, the Grand Final was set to begin between the Falcons and the BetBoom Team, a rematch from the Upper Bracket.

The first map of the Final was a complete farmfest, with both teams avoiding team fights. The BetBoom Team took all three Roshans, but could not convert the Aegis advantage into much. After 40 minutes of farming, Team Falcons finally found a good fight to win the game.

In the second map, Team Falcons took an early lead and slowly choked out the BetBoom Team. Though the Eastern European side took favorable engagements here and there, the Falcons could still close out the map after a 11/2/13 performance from Malr1ne’s Pangolier.

In the final map, gpk’s Leshrac was doing the heavy lifting for the BetBoom Team, but after crucial mistakes from Nightfall, the Falcons continued dominating the map. It was another long, dragged out game, but the MENA squad could eventually close the map after 58 minutes, completing the clean 3-0.

Here are a few highlights from the post-game interview with the Falcons team:

Interviewer: What was the main difference in approach against the BetBoom Team between yesterday and today?

ATFI think BetBoom is a really strong team and we really respect them. I think they were stronger yesterday, they understood and adapted to the draft and gameplay way more. But today, I think they came here way weaker. In my opinion, they understood the draft incorrectly. They were in way better shape yesterday than today.

Interviewer: Malr1ne, who was the hardest mid laner you played against in this tournament?

Malr1ne: Gpk. He is a very good opponent. He is a top three mid laner right now. Nisha, Quinn, and gpk are the three best.

Interviewer: Malr1ne, do you think you are nerf-able? If your heroes get nerfed, are you concerned, or do you just have an infinite hero pool?

Malr1ne: First of all, I have a two-hero pool. My hero pool is Batrider and Timbersaw. If my heroes get nerfed, my team is going to take bzm from OG to replace me.

Interviewer: Sneyking, what is the biggest change between ESL One Kuala Lumpur until now?

Sneyking: I think it’s understanding to be more patient, and working together better as a team as a more coherent unit. Individual talent is obviously there, but the hardest part about Dota is having all the individuals mix together and perform well.

Team Falcons celebrate their second tournament victory of 2024, while the BetBoom Team is unfortunately sent back to the drawing board. The second-place finishers were at least rewarded with $175,000 and 3,500 EPT points.
