The International 10 Qualifiers format
Information regarding the qualifiers for The International 10 has appeared. At the moment, we know the format and the principle of slots' distribution.
Format
Each of the six regions holds a tournament for the participants in the second season of Regional Leagues that didn't qualify for The International 10. The tournaments have a Double-Elimination bracket. Some of the teams start from the Upper bracket, while others - from the Lower bracket. The best team gets into The International 10. The dates of the qualifiers are currently unknown.
As Valve explained, the starting bracket is designed for 16 teams: 8 teams from the Upper Division and 8 ones from the Lower Division. If there are no 16 teams in the region, then the Lower bracket matches will be closed, and its participants will start from the next round.
Seeding principle by teams
All teams participating in the tournament will be ranked. First of all, the team's total DPC points take into account, and then the team's position in the second DPC season. It is important to note that the first and second places of the Lower Division are ranked higher than the seventh and eighth places of the Upper Division.
In other words, the highest rank will go to the teams with the most DPC points, and further distribution will depend on the positions in the second season. The bracket itself, the numbers in which indicate the team's rank in the region, will look like this:
The participants of qualifiers will be announced after the completion of WePlay AniMajor. Based on its results, we will know a complete list of teams that will receive a direct invite to The International 10.
