Tundra Pulls Off Reverse Sweep Against Team Falcons To Win Fissure Playground
Starting the year with two huge transfers, Tundra Esports came into FISSURE Playground Belgrade 2025 prepared. They took down Team Falcons in the Grand Final despite starting the series down 0-2. This victory marks the first Tier 1 win for Whitemon.
The Grand Final series was a long one that went all the way. Tundra Esports built a sizable lead in the first map with dyrachyo's carry Magnus, but they couldn’t end the game with such an advantage. With several missed Reverse Polarities, the Falcons’ late-game scaling draft came into fruition and pulled off the win.
The second map was also drawn out, but the game wasn’t too competitive. Team Falcons had the lead for the entirety of the map, with skiter leading the charge on his Dragon Knight that ended the map 24/0/17.
After losing to Cr1t-’s support Riki in the second map, Tundra Esports decided to steal it for Saksa. Team Falcons came out of the early game with a significant lead, but Tundra Esports played masterfully in the mid-game to bounce back. Eventually, dyrachyo's Lifestealer became too big of a threat, allowing Tundra Esports to win their first map of the series.
At this point, Team Falcons had played five maps on the day, and they seemed to be tired out. Tundra Esports proceeded to dominate the following maps in 25 and 30 minutes, allowing them to complete the reverse sweep.
With this victory, Tundra Esports take home $400,000, while Team Falcons will be compensated with $175,000. FISSURE Playground Belgrade 2025 was held from January 24 to February 2 and featured 16 participants.
